Donut Goodie Bag

I made this litle goodie bag for my Mom last night while watching Drop Dead Diva and riding out a nasty thunderstorm.

I haven't used this chunky glitter in a while ... and I forgot how much I love it. So much so, I need to order some additional colors.

I know the picture isn't the greatest, but I used the camera I had with me ... my iPhone because I wanted to snap a picture before I gave the bag away. That's another reason I don't post to my crafty blog as much ... because I never have time to get a decent photo. Again, the purpose of this blog is to document and share things as they happen. Oh and that's me reminding myself, I sometimes put a lot of pressure on myself as it relates to my papercrafting. I'm forcing myself to have a new attitude: it's more important to get things made, then for them to be perfect.

And Mom loved the bag and the donut. She usually says she doesn't want to mess up the bag, so she doesn't always eat what is inside. Using an altered clothes pin to close the bag is the perfect solution.

Give Evernote a Try

I started listening to Paperclipping Roundtable Podcasts a couple of months ago. They are so much fun to listen to and chock full of information. And I feel so inspired, seriously ... PRT (Paperclipping Round Table) has made me want to find the time to create again. Now, it hasn't magically made my days any longer, so I'm not creating every day. But it has kicked up the desire to do so again. And since I've started listening I made a mini album of my 4th of July weekend to Maryland, some cute bookmarks, a birthday calendar book, and some cute cards.

Check out the episode list here:

You MUST listen to Episode 6 - How to Deal with All That Stuff. I was listening at work and I found myself laughing out loud. If you do listen, be sure to stop back and tell me which parts of the episode you identified with. Several comments reminded me of my sister Joy and my friend Marianne, who consider themselves "collect-ors". Let's face it, most (if not all) papercrafters collect more stuff than they will ever use. I know I have, but that's part of the FUN.

Anyway, one of the segments in the PRT podcasts are product picks and one of the picks that I love is Evernote. It's tagline is "Remember Everything". With my failing memory, I know I needed it stat (right Joy?) I use the online version and I downloaded the iPod app last week, which syncs up with my online account. And check it out ... it's FREE. They have a cooler version that you pay for, but for now the free one works for me.

What kinds of notes do I keep in Evernote? Birthday lists, Scrapbooking ideas, Books I want to buy (or put on my amazon.com wishlist), my "Bucket List", etc.

So, consider checking out Evernote and let me know if you start using it.

New Location ... Same Cupcake Crazed "Girl"

I decided it was time for a change. My other blog is primarily about papercrafting, which I don't have as much time for these days. The name "Cupcake Diva" was provided by my good friend Stacey King via a voicemail she left me. Totally cracked me up, so I decided that I would use that name somehow to link to myself ... because I am ALL about a cupcake.

Anyway, the purpose of this blog is to document my life ... from random thoughts, helpful tips, photos (those I take {good and not so good} and those I love), stories I want to capture (and hopefully scrapbook some day), and hand made projects.
